Meet the Board: Meet Fran Grace
Meet Fran Grace
By Alejandra Duffy
As you can see, we are starting a new series on our blog to help you get to know our Board members. Maybe you already know some of them, but hopefully you will understand why they give so much time and love to the Pacific Women's Golf Association after reading each of their stories.
Today, we're interviewing Fran Grace, the PWGA Stockton Area Director.
Well, I've been married to Tommy Grace for 53 years. He's the first and only man I fell in love with. We have three terrific daughters and five wonderful grand children. We raised our kids with firm hand and lots of love, and they all turned out to be up standing adults.
I've done lots of things in my life, from being a hair dresser to restaurant owner, trucking driver, backhoe business, horse trainer, ridding lesson for kids, and owned boarding stables. I did all these things while my husband was Locomotive Engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad in the Bay Area. I then retired, and then he retired.
We have lived in Los Banos for over thirty eight years. We live in a ranch of eighteen acres, three homes, and lots of room for fun. Both my sister and mom lived on ranch with us. Cathy, my youngest sister, remarried and is living with a great guy in Fresno. Marianna and her husband, Art, still live on ranch with us.
Golf is fun
When I decided to play golf a lot more, I did, and I've been doing it for long time. With not a lot of improvement, but I love it, and now I am on the PWGA Board and I really like it. I thank the world for all the ladies that I work with and all the ladies that I am lucky enough to play with.
