2019 Women's Golf Day Fun
Rebecca, our Monterey/South Bay area Director shared her experience on Women’s Golf Day 2019.
I had a great experience this year when I attended the Women’s Day In Golf Event. This years event was held on June 4, 2019. The location I attended was at San Juan Oaks Golf Club. Who knew it would be that much fun, educational, and empowering. This event started in 2016 when golf writer Elise Gaudet started the event on her own volition. She told GOLF.com this is a “passion project, designed to highlight women in golf and foster growth among females in a largely male-dominated sport”. I spent the better part of the afternoon meeting women of my community, learning how to play golf or ones working on their game at a course that exudes enthusiasm for the growth of the game. The day was beautiful, the course in great shape and the Golf Professionals very knowledgeable. I have been playing golf for the better part of 55 years and never attended this event until 2019. It was time to find out what this is all about.
